Fire in the sawmill...
We had a fire at down at the mill yesterday. This is what I woke up to. (That and a very loud siren). Fortunately our guys were fast and managed to contain the fire. We could have lost the whole place, but because of them we all still have a place to work.
In fact the planers and moulder were running this afternoon and apparently most of the sawmill will be running tomorrow. Some guys even managed to pull the computers out of the foreman's office before the fire spread to that area. The fibre lines, switches and the phone system are toast though and there's a fair bit of fire & electrical damage to the machinery. (Not surpringly)...
Thank you to Linda Johnson up in the Scales for the photos.

Posted by: westcoastloonWow those are scary words "fire in the mill". It's amazing that no one got hurt. Glad to hear that while it's not quite business as usual yet, it's much better than it could have been.
Posted by: The Geekwow - that's crazy! Glad no one was hurt... I guess you're going to have some fixing up to do too?

Posted by: Major JohnI had meant to comment, back when you first posted this. This is EXACTLY the kind of thing that, without blogging, those of us outside the immediate area would never know about or see. Excellent work!
